From Vårgrønn’s inception, we have focused on establishing robust processes, and we are pleased to now demonstrate this with ISO certificates for quality management (ISO 9001) and environmental management (ISO 14001).
Offshore wind projects are massive infrastructure projects that are built and operated in challenging offshore conditions. To deliver that in a safe, sustainable way, having strong processes is essential.
We decided to pursue the ISO certifications to demonstrate that we have robust processes in place that are followed by everyone in Vårgrønn, making us a trusted partner for offshore wind.
ISO 9001 is a globally recognised standard for quality management. Being certified against ISO 9001 means we have put in place effective processes and that we follow these in practice in our day-to-day work.
ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised standard for environmental management. Being certified against ISO 14001 means we have the processes in place to proactively identify measures to minimise our environmental footprint, comply with relevant legal requirements, and achieve our environmental objectives. Our environmental ambitions span climate, nature and circularity.
Our Compliance Officer Kjersti Selvik Kristensen was one of Vårgrønn’s first team members, joining us already in 2021. She explains our motivation to pursue the ISO certification for environmental management alongside the certification for quality management:
At Vårgrønn, we decided to integrate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) aspects into our company’s processes from the beginning. We therefore pursued our ISO 14001 certification and ISO 9001 at the same time.
Our dual ISO certifications show that we have established the processes it takes to deliver on both our growth ambitions and our ESG strategy.
